1. What Houseproof is
Houseproof is a property-tax-protest preparation service operated by Patten Labs LLC, a Texas limited liability company. We pull publicly available property data (parcel records, assessor records, comparable sales, aerial imagery, permit history, tax history) and use AI to generate a tax-appeal brief for Texas homeowners.
2. Two service tiers
DIY filing ($49 flat): we prepare the brief, comp table, and county filing instructions. You submit the appeal to your county appraisal district yourself.
Success-fee filing (30% of realized savings, capped at $500): we file the appeal on your behalf with your county under our property-tax-consultant authorization. If we save you nothing, you owe nothing. If we save you something, you owe 30% of that amount, capped at $500 per property per year.

4. Illustrative testimonials
Any testimonials, screenshots, or savings figures on our marketing pages may be illustrative composites or seeded demo data and not guarantees of actual results. Real savings depend on your property, your county, your appraisal district's rulings, and your appeal's timing.
5. Texas-only at launch
Houseproof currently supports Dallas, Collin, and Tarrant counties. Other Texas counties may roll out without notice. Non-Texas properties are not supported.
6. Refund policy
DIY filings are refundable up to 24 hours before you submit to your county. Success-fee engagements are commission-based and only billed after savings are realized — see ourrefund policy.
7. Privacy + data resale
We do not sell your contact information or property data to third parties. No contractor, attorney, or other vendor will receive your details because of us. Full terms in our privacy policy.
8. Limitation of liability
Our aggregate liability under any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for adverse outcomes from your county appraisal district, missed deadlines on your end, or third-party data accuracy.
